I first met Countess Dönhoff in the Hotel Gehrhus

When I Googled for this hotel, the first result was both romantic and somber: "I first met Countess Dönhoff in the Hotel Gehrhus in Berlin in July 1958 at a gathering of surviving members of the July 20, 1944, conspiracy against Hitler and the wives and children of those who did not survive." (Young FamilyThis picture was the very first slide scanned at the start of this project. No readable date on the slide. I do not recognize them in any of the other slides I have processed from Lot 1....

For our 100th picture, we have this great shot of a cathedral. The Dutch flag atop puts this somewhere in the Netherlands....

Red rock desert, likely southern Utah or northern Arizona....

View of the Pond

View of a pond in this undated Kodachrome slide. The image was "red shifted" due to fading of the dyes. According to several sites, the cyan and yellow dyes fade, leaving just the magenta. I was partially able to restore this using Photoshop, but it still has a reddish tinge and a synthetic look to the colors....

Flower Farm

This looks like a flower farm, possibly in Holland (based on other slides in the lot)....

Violet Dusk

Fading dye in the film gives this sunset/dusk shot a violet hue....
