When I Googled for this hotel, the first result was both romantic and somber: "I first met Countess Dönhoff in the Hotel Gehrhus in Berlin in July 1958 at a gathering of surviving members of the July 20, 1944, conspiracy against Hitler and the wives and children of those who did not survive." View of the Pond

View of a pond in this undated Kodachrome slide. The image was "red shifted" due to fading of the dyes. According to several sites, the cyan and yellow dyes fade, leaving just the magenta. I was partially able to restore this using Photoshop, but it still has a reddish tinge and a synthetic look to the colors....
