My son thought this lunch looked disgusting. To me, this looks like a much more healthy and substantial meal than schoolkids get today.
A quick Google search for Koontz Dairy indicates this may have been taken in the Baltimore area.
When I Googled for this hotel, the first result was both romantic and somber: "I first met Countess Dönhoff in the Hotel Gehrhus in Berlin in July 1958 at a gathering of surviving members of the July 20, 1944, conspiracy against Hitler and the wives and children of those who did not survive." (New York Review of Books; Dec. 6, 1990)
There is no date information on this slide, but it appears to be from the late 50's based on the other labels and slide design. Perhaps the photographer also met the Countess....
